Born and raised in the Midwest, John Amatucci has always had an innate ability to tell compelling stories through imagery. What started with a disposable camera has evolved into a lifelong passion, rooted in both simplicity and complexity. From his first real camera, a Minolta purchased at a pawn shop, to a degree in Photography from Oklahoma State University, John’s journey into the world of visual storytelling has been shaped by experience, curiosity, and skill.
Early in his career, John worked at Fox Photo, a mall-based photography studio, where he honed his craft and began processing film. It was here that he fully realized the power of photography to communicate and connect. Today, as a commercial photographer and director of photography, John’s vision has taken him to some of the most unique corners of the world, offering him rare behind-the-scenes access to businesses, operations, and production processes across industries. From luxury cruise ships and airlines to manufacturing facilities, John’s lens captures not only the beauty but the intricacies of the environments he’s entrusted to portray.
John’s approach to commercial photography and videography is more than technical—it’s about collaboration. He works alongside clients to bring their vision to life, whether for luxury hospitality brands, adventure tourism, or corporate production.
